Prof. Dr. med. Plamen Staikov is one of the leading bariatric and abdominal surgeons in Europe. As medical director of Sachsenhausen Hospital, he has outstanding experience in the field. As chief physician of the surgical department, he has performed more than 10,000 operations. His work focuses on laparoscopic surgery. In addition to all operations on the stomach, intestines and gallbladder, we also treat abdominal wall fractures and tumor diseases.

As deputy chief physician, Holger Bahn heads the hernia center and the center of reflux surgery. Long-established surgical methods are used for severe forms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. This usually includes the removal of a dwarf hernia and the restoration of an intact locking mechanism. With us you can carry out comprehensive reflux diagnostics before deciding on a surgical method (fund application, LINX ...)

Lidia Spiegel is coordinator for private insured and foreign patients at Sachsenhausen Hospital. She looks after our patients, draws up estimates, helps with negotiations with the health insurance companies and is on hand whenever problems or questions arise. She maintains an overview of the surgical team, which consists of 16 surgeons, 4 nutritionists, 4 diabetes specialists, endocrinologists and psychologists.
